Fifth Annual Conference of the Swedish Structural Biology Network
Tällberg, Friday 15 - Monday 18 June, 2001
Thanks to all participants and speakers for helping to make the
fifth Tällberg meeting a success again. Of course, if you
have suggestions to make next year's meeting (if any ...) even
better, please E-mail
them to Gerard.
For the record
- It is now up to the Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF)
to decide if SBNet can continue for another two years and,
hence, if there will be a sixth and seventh SBNet conference.

- The Biovitrum Poster Award went to
(Uppsala University), for his poster number 35, "Proton Pumping by Bacteriorhodopsin".
- The AstraZeneca Structural Chemistry Laboratory Award for the best
oral presentation by a young person went to
of Stockholm University ("Screening for soluble protein expression
in a high-throughput format").
- The traditional football match
between X-ray/EM and NMR/Modelling ended in yet another
victory for the X-ray/EM team ("Diffraction Dream Team" 6 -
"Resonance Rovers" 1).

Sundström Ball Award for the Best Female
Football Player went to Gisela Larsson (Stockholm University),
and the Michael Sundström Ball Award for the Sexiest
Male Football Player went to Gerard Kleywegt (Uppsala University).
