Zoom in: From animals/plants
to cells
Reading material: Stryer, Chapter 1-2
Abstract: Both animals and plants are eukaryotic organisms. They are divided in different species showing similarities and differences. The eukaryotic organisms are built up of several different types of cells which form structures such as leaves and stems in plants and the skeleton and muscles in animals. All organisms need some sort of fuel for growth and reproduction. All different stages in the organisms life are controlled by environmental and intracellular factors.
Key concepts:
Root, stem, leaf
Water, sugar and ion transport
Animal feed, metabolism
Intestine, skeleton, muscle and hormones
Plant and animal cell
