This is the starting page for the Bke1 biochemistry group exercises. Many of the exercises consist of a set of questions covering important facts, ideas and concepts from a smaller section of the course. You should look at the questions and read the relevant section(s) of the book before coming to the group exercise. If you have also worked with the questions, either alone or in a group of friends, you will benefit even more. During the first 3/4 or so (about 1 1/2 hours) of a group exercise, you will have the opportunity to contiue working on the questions, alone or in a small group. A teacher will be present to assist and help you along. The last half hour will be used to go through, discuss, and summarize particularly difficult problems, and hopefully sort out things that are still unclear. Remember that when you are trying to understand and solve a problem it might help to consider all sorts of sources of information: the course text book, your lecture notes (?), the Bke1 web site, the whole WWW, the library, email... Suggested answers to the questions will be published on the web site one to a few days after the group exercise.
There are also some computer exercises where you interactively answer questions or solve problems and get feedback from the computer.
At the end of each exercise you will find links to the relevant lecture(s), as well as to additional material on the topic(s) covered in the exercise.
